FDA Sued Over Electronic Cigarette Embargo

istock_000006259367xsmallThe e-cigarette company Smoking Everywhere filed suit against the FDA on April 29th because they claim that they are illegally blocking their products from entering the United States.

Several e-cigarette retailers and online suppliers have had shipments held up without cause at US customs for up to two weeks.  With no explanation given, on whose authority were the packages detained and why?  Calls to major international shipping carriers yield little information and suppliers are often given the “run around” when it comes to why their packages are being held up and even where their packages are located.
